You would be mighty surprised at what these streets ofbangalore can teach you. Right from magical potions, black magic, chicken isthambuli, to wild concoctions to seduce your neighbour.
My fav haunt nowadays are the these streets where you find books of all matter. It was during one such trip that I chanced upon a certain one. You are never to judge a book by its cover........ However, I just could not resist buying this. The title was too saucy. "how to murder your wife..........."
No.. Am sorry.. Can't tell you what's in the book, 'cos haven't read it myself.
My sister-in-law balked when she saw the book. "Dont get this anywhere near ur cousin", she said. "Aren't there any books about how to murder your husband?" she asks with a mischeivous glint in hereyes.
( dear cousin....my sympathies...) ;D
Over the past few months, I have been buying quite afew books. and why not, when you get them at half the original price. Of course, these are printed in the local press, but, hell, who the heck cares?? The books in the stores are reserved only for the Gods of money.
In the years to come, I hope to boast of a small library of my own, though, filled with pirated ones. May that day come soon. Cheers!!!!
So another page added to the Bangalore diary.
As much as I try to save during the whole course of the week, the weekends turn out to be my nemesis, and I end up spending like crazy.
This saturday was no exception. Nowadays I try to restrict myself to a movie a week, and this time it was "BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM". A neat movie, which at the end leaves you with the feel good all over feeling.
The crowd was great ( it was a Saturday.. anyways ).. And I was contemplating as to watch the movie, or the crowd. But after a few minutes, the movie won.
Its all about Jessy, a punjabi girl living in Britain, who is a wiz with the football. There was one particular scene, where some guys make fun of Jessy while they are playing, and she justs bangs the ball at his...... ouch.. I cudn't resist whistling at this, and all the people around turned to look at me, the men with, "Are you a man??" look, and the women,"how uncharacteristic !!!!" look.
This is not the first time that i have been chastisised. I have been called a sexual pervert, a guy who licks from the palm of a woman, an anti-hindu, a deshadrohi, an Englishman, and even Captain Planet...
;D
The last though.... For a wholly different reason..
Its not that I support ideas or people 'cos i feel they HAVE to be supported... Its 'cos I THINK THEY ARE RIGHT..
And I did think that Jessy was right in bashing that guy............
However, let's stop it at that... I've had too many discussions and arguements about this.........
The second thought that went through my mind was about a girl in college. Anyone remember Jacqueline? That cute girl in college, who never settled for a relationship with anyone... All she had were affairs.. Her face floated in my mind, and a wistful smile came on my lips...
IF NO ONE CAN BEND A FOOTBALL LIKE BECKHAM, THEN AM SURE NO ONE CAN BEND A GUY LIKE SWEET JACQUELINE...
Whassay nitteites???
It's been sometime since I updated my bangalore diary. Been busy the last week.. I suppose you have been missing my updates a lot... Since most of you have been writing to me about it..
But rest assured.... I will do my best... In the future...
Well.... Last Sunday was our company outing... Rather our dept outing. 3 teams were to go for a trip... The company sponsored for the trip... Naturally... I wasn't the one to miss such an oppurtunity...
We were to go to "The estate".. A resort in the outskirts of Bangalore... There were a few freshers.. Including I.
And all newcomers were ragged.... I was made to strip.....
Yes folks... Strip...
Needless to say, I had all the girls drooling.... ;D
And they were gaping starry eyed just like you are gaping at the monitor right now...
It was a good outing.. We all got to know each other well.. Anyways, that was the main reason behind such outings.
We are supposed to have such outings every month... Waiting for my turn to rag the next batch of newcomers...
;D
That's all....
Ask a person which is the capital of casinos and gambling, and "Las Vegas" comes the answer. Oh ! I pity those poor ignorant souls.
They have not come to Bangalore, more so Vijayanagar, and even more so to the den, also called the "DARK DRAGON".
Gambling here is at it's best in the sports season. Not that these people need a reason to gamble. But the current football mania has caught on to all. Hardly does a day pass without I and Nidhi betting on something.
And the stakes.... gosh... Are they high? I have even bet my last piece of underwear. It remains to be seen if he is going to accept it. But am pretty sure I wont touch his garments even with a stick. Heaven alone knows what diseases he has contracted !!!
Well !!! It all boils down to Sunday when the Nazis take on the Brazilians.
Am rooting for the Samba Kings.
What about u folks?
EQUALITY... For all.
An issue I strongly do believe in and endorse. All the while we hear women shouting about equality. Displaying placards and taking processions.
I agree with them wholeheartedly. I do believe equality is non-existant, and it has to be applied. Though from an entirely different point of view.
I believe that the male sex have been the more deprieved.
Women have everything made for them and served on a platter. You see seats reserved exclusively for the fairer sex, and also the front door in a local bus. There are separate queues for women in theatres.. and so in other places. Men have to play sir Gallahad to women and always allow them the first chance, or risk being branded a chauvinist pig. A smile from a woman can do wonders, sometimes even being let scot free by the traffic cop, whereas a smile from us could very well lead to a toothless smile.
I also came to know recently that the working woman has to pay less taxes than the working man.
Boy !! Do we have one hell of a horny government?
Equality !!! my gosh !! Do I want it?
